Detective Paul Daniels has spent four and a half years mourning the loss of his wife. He's been doing his best to raise their daughter, Chloe, with the help of his in-laws. When they inform him right before Thanksgiving that they're going to be moving over two hours away, Paul finds himself without anyone to watch Chloe-especially when he's called out to a crime scene in the middle of the night. Little does he know that meeting his baby brother's girlfriend and her sister, Megan, will change everything. Megan Carson has taken a few wrong turns in her life, but she's doing her best to get back on track. When she meets Chloe, the little girl swiftly worms her way into Megan's heart. The opportunity to help Paul out and watch his daughter appears to be a blessing in disguise. She quickly volunteers to be Chloe's live-in nanny. Everything is working well until the three of them head back to Ohio for Chris and Elizabeth's wedding. Paul has a little too much to drink during the reception, and he and Megan end up sharing a heated kiss. When he wakes up the next day, he has a pounding headache but remembers nothing. Megan, however, isn't willing to forget. Over the past few months since she's been playing nanny, her feelings for Paul have changed. He is everything she never knew she wanted, and now that she knows there might be something there, she's going after what she wants-Paul.

The Daniels Brothers series continues with Paul’s story. Of all the brother’s Paul captured my attention the most in the first book not only because he was a policeman but also because he was a widower raising a small daughter on his own all while trying to hide his inner grief over the loss of his wife from his family.I should first start of saying I think this series needs to be read in order as many of the characters and their histories were started in the previous books. This book starts out at the wedding reception of Chris and Elizabeth who were the first couple in the series. Megan Carson who is the sister of the heroine in the second book is now the live in nanny for Paul’s young daughter Chloe, who steals the show whenever she is in a scene. Megan and her sister didn’t have a great childhood and her sister ended up taking over the maternal role which Megan appreciates but also at times feels smothered by. After graduating from college she went a little wild and was trying to find Mr Right and always ended up with Mr Wrong.
The majority of the book consists of two plot lines. The first is there is a serial killer on the loose and Paul and his partner are trying to figure out who he is before he kills his next victim. The second of course is the romance between Paul and Megan. A little surprising to me was I liked the suspense part a little more than the romance. Megan came on a little too strong in her pursuit of Paul. Don’t get me wrong I wanted to see them together since Red Zone and Paul’s struggles were what I expected them to be but I wished Megan wouldn’t have been written as the dominate force.
There is one last Daniels brother left. Trent has had a strong presence in all the books and I am very curious as to who the woman will be that brings him to heal.

Crossing the Line Sherri Hayes 9781612132686 Books Reviews
I really enjoyed this book. The third one on the Daniels Brothers Romances series by Sherri Hayes.
Paul is a very good father. Being a cop and a single dad is hard but he has managed to make it work so far. Now he needs a Nanny and that's where Chloe comes into their lives.
My only complaint about Paul is that his intentions of keeping Chloe away, putting distance between them, got old really fast. I don't mind that he wanted to protect himself from the pain but it got annoying, for me, by the end.
I love strong-minded independent women in books. Chloe is one of the best female characters that portrayed those characteristics in a romance novel. The fact that she is so stubborn makes her the perfect woman for Paul, even if he doesn't want to admit it.
The plot of the story was consistent with what I have come to expect from Sherri Hayes series. The writing was on point, the dialogue was fun, the characters were compelling and relatable, the mystery of the serial killer was a great addition to the plot, so it wasn't only based on the romance.
I would recommend this book to anyone that love stubborn females and amazing single fathers, mixed with a serial killer investigation.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed are my own and I have not been compensated for this review.
Loved it ❤️
When Megan came in to Paul's life as a nanny he didn't expect to fall in love with her, specially since she was so young. She open his eyes and make him realize that he could love again and that he was worthy to be loved.
I also love that Megan wasn't afraid to take charge of the situation and push for the relationship they both deserve.#teamMegan.
Great book, Sherri I can't wait to read more from you.
I love Paul and Megan's story. From the other two books in this series you could tell Paul was battling something that happened to him several years ago. But one thing that was undeniable was that he loved his daughter and his family. Detective Paul is an honest man and upfront about almost everything. I say almost everything because he isn't honest with his feelings for Megan until later. Megan is a young woman who has a not so stable past or family history. She accepts a job that allows her to be a nanny to Paul's five year old daughter. Things progress from there through different events. Sherri Hayes did a wonderful job in my opinion building their relationship in a natural way. I for one wish the book would have went on so that we could get more of a glimpse of their future. Hopefully we will see parts in the next book!
I really enjoyed this book. I have a thing for cops so that helps. Paul still mourns losing his wife and that just breaks my heart. Raising a daughter isn't easy so he gets a nanny.
I can relate to Megan as having a past and trying to overcome it. Her determination to break through Paul's walls is strong. I like that Sherri made her that way. So many books have the heroine give up and wait for the hero.
The bad guy? I so had someone else pegged so I was surprised.
This was definitely a book to read remember. Paul and Megan had a rough beginning. Dealing with so much self doubt and sadness, Paul couldn't commit to Megan. This book went on for awhile about his trauma with his first wife, while Megan was falling in love with him.
I liked this book, and the suspense was great, but I wish they'd gotten together sooner. Megan send like a young girl trying too hard, while Paul was adamant that nothing would happen.
It's definitely worth the read. Great characters and a good ending.
